Finally Dell introduced their new Tablet notebook Latitude XT. For the past few years Internet was talking about when Dell will produce such laptop. According news on December 11, 2007 Dell will release this model to the world wide markets.

Latitude XT is notebook-transformer can be easily become a tablet with big touch screen. Also Dell designed not only for the tablet PC lovers but for the wide range of customers who need reliable mobile device.

Specifications:

WiBrain is one of the largest company that produces mobile computers in the Korea. Few days ago they introduced new mobile computer UMPC B1. For past several month B1 was available only in the Korea but company announced that they will export it in US.

The new computer slightly different than the original model. Company decided to modify it to meet US standards. The main changes are the color of the case and controlling system. Also hardware of B1 faced some changes as well. Now computer weights 501 g and has different processor called VIA C7M with 1.2 Ghz frequency. Further more it has VX700 video adapter that can create 1024×600 resolution on the 4.8 inch screen. Buyer can choose the size of the hard drive (30/60 Gb) and memory (512Mb/1Gb). Hard drives work at 4200 rpm. I think it is very energy efficient way of storing data.

This version of the UMPC B1 has all connection types that user only can imaging. Along with standard Bluetooth 2.0. Wi-Fi buyer can choose between Wi-Max, HSDPA/UMTS (850/1900/2100 Mhz) and GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 Mhz). On top of everything it has USB, LPT, microphone and headphone ports that will make user’s life easier. QWERTY keyboard will speed up text messaging and document editing processes.

UMPC B1 perfectly works under OC Windows Vista which in my opinion may cause some trouble. The price for the device will be vary from $699 to $899 dollars per unit.

The new GPS system in the iPAQ family will have dual core processor. The new GPS system iPAQ 310 will have dual core CPU which based on the SiRF Titan chipset. New chipset includes ARM processor with 600 Mhz speed and digital signal processor with 300 Mhz frequency. Also on circuit board has 40 -channels GPS module and Bluetooth.

The new iPAQ 310 has Windows CE 5.0, 4.3 inch screen with 800×480 resolution, and weights 187 g. Further more it has 128 Mb integrated memory and memory card slot wich supports SDHC and microSD cards up to 8 Gb.

The iPAQ 310 has such software features as US maps with 3D objects, media player, contacts , Microsoft Outlook , world time, games, and calculator. The volume of the battery is 1700 mA and it is great for the GPS. The price for this new device is $400.

This stylish mobile phone has media player, Bluetooth and camera as any of today’s cellphones.

The main feature fo this phone is his sensor keypad and ultra thin body. Aslo it has 65K screen with 128×160 resolution. Further more this mobile device received 1.3 mega pixel camera with 4x digital zoom.

Sagem released this model as budget unit for mid class buyer. It has all standard features such as light weight (81 g), WAP 2.0 Internet connectivity and Bluetooth connectivity for the filesharing. On top of this company integrated media player with MP3 and ACC support. SAGEM MY511X has 13 Mb imbedded memory and microSD slot to expand it.

Battery of Sagem phone can work up 212 hours on stand by mode and 2 hours talk time. The price for SAGEM MY511X has not been announced yet.

After release of the famous HTC Touch Dual company tries to save place on the market for this model. Creating of the HTC Touch a lot of new users switch to these device because they became smaller and look like smartphones than bulky Pocket PC.

Compare to the previous version of this device new model became thiner but a bit wider and longer. This makes this communicator closer to the phone then PDA. Also it slides up as the regular phone.

Gigabyte introduced their new ultra mobile computer M704. This model is next model in the U60 series.

The new model received new smaller and thiner design. Also M704 received better functianlity, more memory, big diplay and etc. M704 UMPC works on the VIA Esther ULV C7 1,2 Ghz with 7″ inch touch screen and 1027×600 resolution. Further more it has 40 or 60 Gb hard drive, two USB 2.0 ports, VGA port, QWERTY keyboard and WiFi support. On top of everything new model has 1.3 megapixel camera. The release of this device is still unknown, but according to the Internet rummors price will be sround $800 dollars.

Qualcomm is large company that works on the modernization of mobile devices. The latest working prototype is the 1 Ghz processor for smartphones, Pocket PCs and PDAs.

Snapdragon is the ARM processor based platform with Scorpion CPU (1 Ghz frequency), digital signal processor 600 Mhz, GPS unit and other parts. Qualcomm chipsets support such technology as CDMA2000 1xEV-DO and MTS/HSDPA/HSUPA, mobile connection (GSM/EDGE), digital TV (MediaFLO, SDMB, ISDB-T, TDMB и DVB-H), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. For example in the UMTS network the transfer speed can be up to 7 Mbit/s. Also this chipset support screen resolution 1024×768, can perform MP#/MPEG4 decoding, support 12 mega pixel matrix and satellite navigation.

The famous manufacturer of the high class cellphones Vertu introduced new model in their series of phones. Vertu Ascent Ti is one the cheapest in the Vertu series.

This model just been certified by the US standards. Vertu Ascent Ti will be redesigned to meet advance functionality features. Device has 3 MP camera built in.

As all of the Vertu phones it will have the titanium case, sapphire scratch resistance glass and high quality leather. Also new phone will have Vertu Fortress service built in. This feature is help phone user to protect their personal information that stored in the phone. Vertu Fortress synchronizes the information from the phone with information located in hidden underground bunker. If the user lost the phone information will be useless and deleted.

Further more the famous musician David Arnold designed new unique ringtones for this cellphone. David Arnold wrote music for the famous “Casino Royal” movie. Vertu Ascent Ti will be available in three colors: red, black and brown. The price for this phone is $6628.

Philips introduced new cellphone in the Xenium series. This outstanding model is Xenium 9@9k. The best feature of this phone is ability working in stand by mode for up to two month. This attribute gave Xenium nickname - “Champ”.

Talk time for this phone is 17 hours and player mode can be up tp 35 hours. The functionality
side of this model is simple. It has simple VGA camera, but MP3 player, FM receiver and microSD slot. Also Xenium 9@9k has integrated Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, that means that you can use Bluetooth headphones.(but this will decrease working time of the mp3 player). Further more new mobile device will be charging from USB because it has miniUSB port. Price for this Philips phone will be around $200 dollars.

Today techology is moving in giant steps. One single mobile device can contain
phone, GPS unit, TV and radio receiver. Regular PDA can not compit with new smartphones.The only advantage is that  most of the PDAs has bigger screen than regular smartphone.Most of the PDA owners does not want to switch to smartphones because it is better to watch movies on the 3.5″ screen. One of the new PDA that tries to compit with growing smartphone technology is  Acer c531 Pocket PC Travel Companion.

This mobile device has 2.8″ TFT QVGA screen with 320×240 resolution. Processor designed by Samsung and has 300 Mhz speed. Also it has 128 Mb ROM memory, 64 Mb RAM, SD/MMC/SDIO support, Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b+g, mini-USB 2.0 and weight 122 g. Further more c531 been awarded with RedDot Design and Product Design Award 2007. Acer sell this device with acessories inside. This may atract new customers. Package includes car ount unit, 2 Gb memory, USB cable and car charger.
